Born on February 11, 1967, in the charming town of Palmetto, Louisiana, Bobby Joe graced this world with his vibrant presence until May 11, 2026, when he departed peacefully at his home.
Bobby Joe was the cherished son of Jeanie Soileau and the late LG Thibodeaux. He was also graced with the guidance and love of his late grandparents, JT Soileau and Lydia Dupre. His legacy continues through his beloved family: his devoted mother, Jeanie Soileau; his steadfast brother, Donald Bonaventure Jr.; and his caring sisters, Lorinda Corley and Angelique Sylvester.
Bobby Joe's journey through life was enriched by his former wife and lifelong friend, Janie Mitchell, and his treasured sons: Bobby Thibodeaux Jr., Johnny Thibodeaux, and Robert Thibodeaux, who, along with his wife Veronica, carry forward the torch of Bobby Joe's enduring spirit. As a grandfather to fifteen adoring grandchildren, Bobby Joe's love radiated through generations, leaving an indelible mark on all their hearts.
A man of the road and the sea, Bobby Joe found his calling as both a truck driver and an oil field worker. His career choices mirrored his love for adventure and his unquenchable thirst for stories and experiences. Yet, it was not merely his work that defined him but the way he lived—embracing each moment with a sense of wonder and an infectious smile.
Bobby Joe was a man who never turned down a fishing trip or the chance to spin a yarn. With a charm that could light up the darkest room and a personality that was truly larger than life, he made friends wherever he went. His humor was legendary, his stubborn streak endearing, and his zest for life unparalleled. Bobby Joe's stories and adventures are the stuff of family lore, cherished memories that will echo in the hearts of his loved ones forever.
A celebration of Bobby Joe's life will be held on May 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at The Rock Church of Clute, located at 540 S. Main, Clute, TX 77531. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Bobby Joe are invited to come together to honor a life well-lived and to share in the joy and laughter that he so freely gave.
As we gather to say our farewells, let us remember Bobby Joe not with tears of sorrow, but with smiles of gratitude for the moments we shared. His adventures may have come to an end, but his legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories will live on in our hearts forever.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you take a moment to enjoy the simple pleasures in life—a good story, a day by the water, or the laughter of loved ones—and remember Bobby Joe's spirit with a smile.
Rest in peace, dear Bobby Joe. Your journey continues in the hearts of those you leave behind, and your spirit will forever be a guiding light.
