March 4, 1935 — October 23, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bobby Joe Sparks, who departed this world on October 23, 2026. Born on March 4, 1935, Bobby lived a life marked by devotion to family, community, and his passions. His journey began in the loving arms of his parents, Allie Mae Moore and George Sparks, and he was raised alongside siblings Wilford Barrett, Wilbert Sparks, Kendrick Deckard, Eva Lois Kirksey, and Louise Kirk, all of whom predeceased him. Bobby's life was enriched by his marriage to the love of his life, Janice Ruth Sparks. Together, they created a nurturing home for their children, Teresa Franklin, Jerone Sparks, and Lesha Hadnot. The legacy of love and warmth they built continues through Bobby's six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his later years. A proud alumnus of E.J. Campbell High School, Bobby was a hardworking man who dedicated 40 years to his career as a molder at Nibco Foundry, retiring in 1996. His diligence and commitment to his work were matched only by his love for the outdoors and his community. Known for his quick wit, charming demeanor, and selfless nature, Bobby was a pillar of support and a source of wisdom for many. He was a man of few words, but his words carried weight and were always met with attentive ears. Bobby's passions extended beyond his family and work. A sports enthusiast, he was a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan, often teasing his friends about the fortunes of the Dallas Cowboys. In retirement, he embraced the simple pleasures of life, walking three miles every morning for 25 years and tending to his garden, where he lovingly grew tomatoes and peppers to share with neighbors. His cooler, always stocked with cold drinks for kids and adults alike, was a testament to his generosity and kindness. Bobby's presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. A service to honor Bobby's life will be held on October 31, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Hill First Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Bobby's memory, reflecting his commitment to helping others. As we gather to celebrate Bobby Joe Sparks' remarkable life, we remember him as a man of integrity, humor, and love, whose legacy will endure in the stories we share and the lives he touched.
