Bobby Cox
November 25, 1952 — February 13, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Bobby Cox, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Bobby peacefully departed this world on February 13, 2026, at the age of 73, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to his family and community.
Born on November 25, 1952, in Charlotte, North Carolina, Bobby was the son of Charlie and Dove Cox, who predeceased him. Growing up in Charlotte, Bobby was instilled with values of hard work, integrity, and compassion—qualities that he carried throughout his life and work.
Bobby dedicated 33 years of his life to his career at UPS, where he was known not only for his strong work ethic but also for his warm smile and willingness to lend a helping hand to colleagues and clients alike. His colleagues recall him as a steadfast friend and a source of encouragement and positivity.
On November 11, 2000, Bobby married the love of his life, Jane Cox. Their union brought forth a family filled with love and laughter. Bobby was a devoted husband to Jane, a loving father to their daughter, Elizabeth Utz, and a supportive father-in-law to Michael Utz. His pride and joy were his grandchildren, Johnathan and Snow Dove Utz, who affectionately called him "Pappy." Bobby's gentle spirit and playful nature made him a cherished figure in their lives, and he delighted in every moment spent with them.
Bobby was a man of simple pleasures; he enjoyed spending time in nature, exploring the beauty of the Carolinas, and sharing stories of his adventures. He had a passion for woodworking, creating pieces that were as enduring as his love for his family.
The family will hold a service to celebrate Bobby's life on February 13, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Matthews. Friends and loved ones are invited to join in honoring Bobby's life and legacy.
In a special message from the family: Bobby's gentle spirit, unwavering kindness, and steadfast love will be deeply missed but will forever remain in our hearts. He taught us the importance of family, the joy of simple moments, and the power of love. Though he is no longer with us, his light continues to shine through the lives he touched.
Bobby Cox will be remembered not only for the life he lived but for the love he gave. He leaves behind a family that will forever cherish his memory and strive to live by the values he held dear.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Bobby's memory, as a testament to his generous spirit and desire to make the world a better place.
May Bobby rest in peace, knowing he was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
