Bobbi Thompson Sr

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bobbi Thompson Sr, who left this world on August 12, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on January 11, 1944, in Pensacola, Florida, Bobbi was a cherished son of Elbert and Martha Thompson. His life was a tapestry of love, service, and joy, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. Bobbi shared a beautiful life with his beloved wife, Willima Thompson. Together, they built a family that became the cornerstone of his world. He is survived by his devoted children, Bobbi Thompson Jr, Larry Thompson, and Wendy Thompson, who carry on his legacy with grace and warmth. Bobbi was a proud grandfather to 56 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren, with a special bond with his grandson Joseph Thompson and his granddaughter Shykeria Thompson. A proud veteran, Bobbi served his country with honor in the United States Army from 1970 to 1990. His commitment to service extended beyond the military as he dedicated his professional life as an engineer at GE, where he worked diligently until his passing. Bobbi had a zest for life that was evident in his many passions. An avid fisherman, he never missed an opening day on the water, relishing the serenity and challenge of the sport. Cooking was another of his great loves, and he found joy in preparing meals for his family, filling their home with love and laughter. Whether at the bowling alley or on the basketball court, Bobbi's quick wit and beautiful smile were ever-present, endearing him to all who crossed his path. More than anything, Bobbi was the heart and soul of his family. His infectious humor, spirited personality, and unwavering love made him the life of every gathering and the glue that held his family together. He was, in every sense, the life of the party and a beacon of light to those around him. A service to honor Bobbi's remarkable life will be held on August 22, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, located at 625 North D Street. The Thompson Family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff at Sacred Heart for their compassionate care and to Antioch Missionary Baptist Church for their hospitality and warm prayers during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice in Bobbi's memory, celebrating his generous spirit and enduring legacy.
