Bob Quantrell
December 6, 1942 — March 28, 2026
With heavy hearts, we announce that Bob Quantrell, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2026, at the Fairvern Long Term Care home. Born in Orillia on December 6, 1942, Bob lived a life rich with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories.
Bob was the cherished son of Eileen and Lorne Quantrell, who preceded him in death, along with his dear sister, Janice Cotterchio. His legacy of love continues through his devoted wife of 58 years, Sherry, whom he met during their college years at Northern Michigan University. Together, they built a beautiful life, raising two wonderful children, Mike (Tammy) and Jaime (Graham), in Erin, Ontario, before returning to the Huntsville area to run Glen Manor Cottages in Dwight.
A proud graduate of Huntsville High School, Bob's professional journey was as vibrant as his personality. As a charismatic battery salesman and owner at MagnaCharge, he left an indelible mark on all who knew him. He also found joy in his afternoon work with Wardair, later Canadian Airlines, before fully dedicating his time to Glen Manor Cottages with Sherry.
Bob's life was a tapestry of passions. An avid golfer, he was a longstanding member of Erin Heights Golf Course, where he served as Captain of the Men's Division. His love for hockey was legendary, playing as a superstar in his youth and continuing with Erin Oldtimers for the sheer joy of the game. He cherished his time at Butterbowl Hunt Camp, where stories and friendships were cultivated.
Known for his quick wit and grand storytelling, Bob had an unmatched ability to bring warmth and laughter to those around him. His presence filled any room with joy, and his friendships were treasures he held dearly.
Bob's life was graced by the love of his grandchildren, Dylan (Emma), Blake, Mitchell, and Audrey, each of whom brought him immense pride and joy. He was a beloved brother-in-law to Peter Cotterchio, a dear uncle to Wade, Andrea (Nick), and great-uncle to Colt. His longtime friend and neighbor, Garry Best, was a constant companion in his life's journey.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to the nurses and staff at Fairvern Long Term Care for the heartfelt care and compassion shown to Bob in his final days. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Fairvern Long Term Care in Bob's memory, ensuring the continuance of their excellent care for others.
Bob's spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His was a life well-lived, and his memory will be eternally cherished.
