Blayde Michael Smith-Hackworth

November 30, 2004 — July 3, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Blayde Michael Smith-Hackworth, who left this world far too soon on July 3, 2026, at Major Hospital in Shelbyville, Indiana. Born on November 30, 2004, at the same hospital, Blayde's life, though brief, was filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Blayde was a beloved son of Michael and Sarah Hackworth, and he leaves behind a legacy that will forever be cherished by his devoted wife, Allison Chaney. He was a caring brother to his sister, Shelbi Smith, and brought immense joy to his grandparents, Eric and Mary C. Anderson, Walt and Becky Hackworth, and Jimmy and Brenda Smith. Blayde's extended family, including numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, along with his faithful canine companions, Moose and Daisy, will forever hold his memory close to their hearts. A proud graduate of Triton Central High School, Blayde pursued a career as an electrician apprentice, where his work ethic and dedication shone brightly. Outside of his professional life, Blayde was a free spirit who embraced life with unbridled enthusiasm. He found joy in riding motorcycles, exploring the muddy trails at Haspen, and casting a line on quiet fishing trips. A lover of the open road, he frequently attended car meets, where he shared his passion for vehicles with fellow enthusiasts. Above all, Blayde cherished spending time with his friends, creating memories filled with laughter and camaraderie. Blayde possessed an extraordinary ability to light up any room he entered, and his infectious smile and warm heart endeared him to everyone he met. He was a beacon of joy and kindness, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him. Blayde is preceded in death by his great grandparents, John and Bertha Anderson, Sidney and Florine Dixon, and Jim Smith, as well as his father-in-law, Jason Chaney. As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the light he brought into our lives. A service to honor Blayde's remarkable life will be held on July 9, 2026, at 12:00 PM at the Glenn George and Sons Funeral Home, located at 537 Amos Road, Shelbyville, IN 46176. Friends and family are welcome to join us as we pay tribute to a life well-lived. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the first responders and the staff at Major Hospital for their compassionate care and support. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may consider making a donation in Blayde's memory to a charity of their choice. Blayde's spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him, and his memory will continue to inspire us to live with the same joy and kindness that defined his life.
