Billy Dewayne Johnson

August 9, 1971 — September 8, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Billy Dewayne Johnson, a beloved son, brother, and friend, who left this world on September 8, 2026. Born on August 9, 1971, in Longview, Texas, Billy was the cherished son of Peggy and Bobby Joe Johnson. From a young age, Billy had an adventurous spirit and zest for life that was infectious to those around him. He had a particular affection for motorcycles, which he embraced with the thrill of the open road. Fishing was another one of Billy's passions, and he would seize every opportunity to cast a line, finding peace and joy by the water's edge. His love for the outdoors was evident, and he cherished these moments of tranquility and reflection. Billy also enjoyed the excitement of casinos, often accompanied by his aunt, where they shared laughter and created lasting memories. A true social butterfly, Billy never met a stranger; his warmth and charisma drew people to him, and he quickly became a friend to many. Despite life's ups and downs, Billy approached every challenge with humor and resilience. He will be remembered for his unique ability to find humor in the unexpected, often leaving those around him in fits of laughter with his witty remarks and candid observations. The family fondly shares that “he will be known for everything he touched; he screwed up,” a testament to his ability to embrace imperfections with a smile. Billy's legacy is carried on by his brother, Bobby Johnson, his aunt, Betty Madewell, and his cousin, Jeremy Dorsey. His beloved dog, Buck, was a constant companion and source of joy, and it is in these relationships that Billy’s spirit will continue to shine. Billy was predeceased by his grandparents, W.H. Johnson, his cousins, Bobby and Charles Madewell, his uncles, Jerry Glenn and Dorsey Charles Johnson, and his aunt, Kathryn Dorsey. While they are no longer with us, we take comfort in knowing they are reunited once more. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Billy's honor. This gesture would mean a great deal to Billy, who believed in the power of kindness and giving back. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. They would like to invite friends and family to join them in a celebration of Billy’s life at a later date, where stories will be shared, laughter will be abundant, and his extraordinary life will be remembered with joy. Billy Dewayne Johnson touched the lives of many, and his memory will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the love of those who went before him.
