It is with heavy hearts, yet with profound gratitude for a life well-lived, that we announce the passing of Billy Allen Strother. Born in the serene town of Strasburg, Virginia on March 23, 1936, Billy departed this world peacefully on February 9, 2026, at Roanoke Chowan Hospital, surrounded by the love of his family. Billy was the cherished son of Mary and John Strother, who instilled in him the values of hard work, kindness, and laughter. These traits became the hallmark of his life. Educated at Douglas High School, where he graduated in 1965, Billy embarked on a career with Federal Mogul. His dedication and perseverance saw him through a remarkable 41-year tenure, during which he became a respected and beloved figure among his colleagues. Outside of his professional life, Billy was a man of simple pleasures. He found joy in the tranquility of fishing, the thrill of hunting, and the timeless stories of westerns on television. His laughter was infectious, and his ability to fill a room with joy and humor was unparalleled. Billy had a way of making everyone feel welcome and appreciated, ensuring that no gathering was complete without a hearty joke or a shared laugh. Billy's legacy lives on through his beloved family. He is survived by his devoted children, daughters Tina Denmark and Toni Tenorio, and son Billy Denmark. His presence will be deeply missed by his five grandsons, Jordan Williams, Justin Williams, Floyd Twyman, Dominique Twyman, and William Holloman, who will carry forward his spirit and values. Billy was also the proud great-grandfather to five great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his later years. A service to celebrate Billy's life will be held on February 15, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Stover Funeral Home, located at 244 Grant Rd. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor and remember a man who touched so many lives with his kindness and humor. In the words left by his family, "You’ll always be remembered & loved."
