Billie Anne Jansky

April 23, 1939 — August 8, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Billie Anne Jansky, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend to many. Billie was born on April 23, 1939, in Ft. Collins, Colorado, to William Allen Gray and Phyllis Opal Spiher. She passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side. Billie's life was a tapestry of love, dedication, and service. She proudly served in the Navy, trained as a core wave, where she developed a strong sense of discipline and duty that she carried throughout her life. Her professional journey was diverse; she contributed her talents to the banking sector and an independent insurance agency. Moreover, Billie was an entrepreneur at heart, running a small bakery shop and managing a Dairy King. Her roles as a waitress, retail store clerk, and lumber mill worker highlighted her adaptability and work ethic. In her personal life, Billie shared almost 45 years of marriage with her husband, Stephen, after they wed on September 12, 1981, in Kremmling, Colorado. Their marriage was filled with love and numerous camping adventures in the high country, a testament to their shared zest for life. Billie was active in her community, participating as a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Rifle, Colorado. Her contributions to the church were many, including her involvement with the building committee, the Christmas bazaar, Seder meals, church linens, choir, and funeral dinners. Her love for baking, sewing, and caring for little ones was well-known, as was her ability to make friends easily with her warm smile and helpful nature. She is predeceased by her first husband, Ronald Fay; her sister, Susan Sandidge; son in-law John Haefeli and her parents. Billie leaves behind a loving family, including her husband, Stephen; children Siobhan (Jeff), Delia (John), Carrie (Chris), and Ron (Katherine), and several grandchildren Eric Gonzales, Lauren Milholm, Hayden Fay and Jessica Brandt (Lee) and great-grandchildren who will carry forward her legacy of kindness and love. A funeral ceremony will be held on September 28th 11:00AM at St. Mary's Catholic church in Rifle, Colorado. The family extends their gratitude to Hospice of the Valley for their compassionate care and genuine love for Billie during her time with them. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Research Association in memory of Billie Anne Jansky, to support ongoing research and the quest for a cure. The organization is based in Saint Clair Shores, MI, USA. Billie touched the lives of many, and her spirit will continue to inspire those who knew and loved her. May she rest in eternal peace.

Poem / Prayer

May the road rise to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, the rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
