Bill Waters, a gentle soul with an enormous heart, passed away on October 23, 2026. Born on July 30, 1950, in Ray, Arizona, Bill was the beloved son of Betty Waters and Henry Armstrong, who adopted and raised him with unwavering love and care. He was predeceased by his cherished parents but leaves behind a family and community that will forever celebrate his memory. Bill proudly served his country as a Marine from 1968 to 1974, achieving the rank of corporal. His two-year stationing in Vietnam shaped a lifelong dedication to supporting veterans of all branches, a cause close to his heart. Upon returning home, he pursued a degree in Computer Information Systems from the University of Phoenix, embarking on a career that showcased his keen intellect and commitment to excellence. A dedicated member of St. Anne's Catholic Church in La Vernia, Texas, Bill found solace and community in his faith. His warmth and generosity knew no bounds; he was always ready to lend a helping hand or share a laugh that could brighten anyone's day. Family was Bill's utmost priority, and he cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. Bill is survived by his siblings, Joanne Freiburg, Linda Morales, and Herlinda Dutchover, his beloved son, William Scott Waters, and his treasured grandchildren, Arya, Anabelle, and Zachary Waters, who brought immense joy to his life. His close friend, Sydney Powell, was also a steadfast presence in Bill's journey, sharing countless moments of friendship and laughter. In his leisure time, Bill was an avid researcher of his family's history and took great interest in reading about Native American culture. He had a passion for collecting rocks and cacti, hobbies that reflected his deep appreciation for nature's beauty. Most of all, Bill relished the time spent with his grandchildren, creating memories that will be cherished forever. A service to honor Bill's life will be held on November 3, 2026, at 16:00 at Alpine Memorial Funeral Home in Alpine, Texas.
