Born on April 24, 1944, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Bill was the cherished son of the late Max and Ruth McGuire. His life was a testament to love, dedication, and service, touching the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Bill's journey was one marked by courage and commitment. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a Vietnam Veteran, where he demonstrated unwavering bravery and resilience. His service to the nation was a defining chapter of his life, one that he carried with honor and pride.
Following his military service, Bill dedicated 35 years of his professional life to Dexter Axle, where he worked with diligence and integrity. His colleagues remember him as a dependable and hard-working individual who contributed significantly to the company and was admired for his leadership and work ethic.
On June 16, 1982, Bill married the love of his life, Rachel McGuire, with whom he shared 44 beautiful years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. Their union was blessed with four sons: Steve, Dustin, Brentin, and Gavin McGuire, who were the pride and joy of Bill's life. He was a devoted father who instilled in his sons the values of kindness, honesty, and perseverance.
Bill's legacy continues through his eight treasured grandchildren: Dakota, Stevielyn, Jada, Ayden, Emberlyn, Lydia, and Hudson McGuire. He was a doting grandfather, whose stories, wisdom, and gentle spirit will forever remain in their hearts.
The family invites friends and loved ones to join them in celebrating Bill's life on June 2, 2026, at 11:00 AM. The service will be held at Sheets and Child Funeral Home, located at 206 N Main Street. It will be a time to honor his life, reflect on the many ways he touched others, and find comfort in the shared memories.
