It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Beverly Wheeler, a cherished matriarch, devoted mother, and beloved grandmother, who left us on August 2, 2026. Beverly was born on June 14, 1951, in the vibrant city of Detroit, Michigan, to Earl Wheeler and Jacqueline Jones. Throughout her life, Beverly embodied the spirit of her hometown—resilient, passionate, and full of warmth.
Beverly's life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and an unwavering dedication to her family. She was predeceased by her loving parents, Earl and Jacqueline, her sister Sharon, her daughter Leslie, and her son Shannon. She also mourned the loss of the love of her life, Larry R. Lee, who preceded her in death. Together, Beverly and Larry shared a deep and enduring love that inspired all who knew them.
Beverly's greatest joy was her family, and she leaves behind a legacy of love through her children: Brett Wheeler, Jamie Wheeler, and Alisa Wheeler. Her nurturing spirit and endless support were the cornerstones of her children's lives. She was a proud grandmother to 25 grandchildren and a great-grandmother to 35 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immeasurable joy and pride.
Her home was a gathering place filled with the aroma of her exquisite cooking, the sounds of laughter, and the warmth of her unconditional love. Beverly's kindness was boundless, and her wisdom was a guiding light for her family and friends. She possessed a remarkable ability to make everyone feel special and cherished, and her legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
A celebration of Beverly's life will be held on August 22, 2026, at 2:00 PM at James H. Cole, located at 16100 Schaefer Hwy, Detroit, MI 48235. Family and friends are invited to gather in honor of a woman whose life was a testament to love and resilience.
