It is with heavy hearts and profound respect that we announce the passing of Beverly Terry, a beloved daughter, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, who departed this life peacefully in her sleep on June 21, 2026, at the age of 69. Born on November 16, 1956, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Beverly was the cherished daughter of Adell Sr. and Earnestine Grimes. A spirited and adventurous soul, Beverly's life was a vibrant tapestry of experiences and accomplishments. She graduated from South Division High School in Milwaukee in 1974, marking the beginning of a journey filled with friendships, love, and laughter. Soon after, in her parents’ living room, she married her first love, Larry Yarbrough. Together, they embarked on an exciting adventure that took them from the snowy peaks of Denver, Colorado, to the sunny warmth of Phoenix, Arizona, eventually settling in the bustling city of Dallas, Texas. Although their marriage ended in 1989, their union blessed Beverly with two beautiful children, Tomeka Mosley (Anthony) and Scenestro Yarbrough, who were the light of her life. In 1998, Beverly found love once more in the kind-hearted David Terry. They married in 2000 and relocated to San Antonio, Texas, where they built a life filled with joy and companionship. Though their paths diverged in 2022, Beverly embraced each chapter of her life with grace and resilience. A dedicated professional, Beverly spent 16 years working for UPS, followed by successful tenures at Citi Bank and Chase Bank, where she left a lasting impact with her unwavering work ethic and kindness. Her colleagues remember her fondly for her warmth and the laughter she brought to the workplace. Beverly's passions extended beyond her professional life. She was an avid card player, renowned for her skill in Spades. Her friends and family will forever cherish the lively bi-weekly and monthly card games she hosted. Her love for card games took her on cruises, where she showcased her talent in Spades and Bid Whiz, earning trophies and friends across the seas. Beverly was a beacon of love and strength to her family. She is survived by her devoted mother, Earnestine Grimes, her beloved children, Tomeka and Scenestro, and her treasured grandchildren, Zirchonion Yarbrough, Daishaun Yarbrough, Scenestro Yarbrough Jr, and Niage Yarbrough, who brought immense joy to her life. She also leaves behind her loving sister, Betty Ferguson, and brothers Adell Grimes Jr., Mack Charles Grimes, Jimmy Dell Grimes, Larry Shuttlesworth, and Anthony Charles Grimes. Beverly was predeceased by her father, Adell Grimes Sr., whose memory she cherished deeply. Beverly’s life was a testament to the power of love, resilience, and joy. Her memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. As we bid farewell to a remarkable woman, we take comfort in knowing that her spirit lives on in the legacy she leaves behind. A celebration of Beverly's life will be held at a date to be announced, where her family and friends will gather to honor her memory and share stories of the joy she brought into their lives. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Beverly's name to a charity of one's choice, in honor of her generous and loving spirit.
