Beverly Jean Griffith, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2025, at the age of 92, surrounded by her loving family. Born on January 29, 1933, in the picturesque land of Scotland, Beverly was the cherished daughter of John Archibald and Agnes McAnally, who have preceded her in death.
Beverly was a woman of immense kindness and unwavering strength. Her life was a testament to the beauty of simple joys and the profound impact of genuine compassion. She was a devoted mother to her surviving children Margaret (Larry Jr.) Walls, Theodore (Vicki) Sayles, and stepson Howard Sayles. Beverly was also preceded in death by her loving husbands, James Alvin Sayles and Edward James Griffith Jr., and her daughter, Mary Robinson. Her legacy continues through her three cherished grandchildren Mike(Cynthia) Sayles, Robert Largent Jr, and Jessica Robinson and nine adored great-grandchildren.
For many years, Beverly worked at Kelvyn Park High School in the lunchroom, where she was not only appreciated for her diligent work but also loved for her warm smile and caring nature. Her commitment to nurturing young minds was evident in every interaction, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Beverly was an active and dedicated member of the New Horizon Temple, where her faith was a cornerstone of her life. She found joy and fulfillment in serving her community, always extending a helping hand to those in need. Her love for shopping with friends, playing bingo, and attending church brought her immense happiness and a sense of belonging.
Known for her kind heart and generous spirit, Beverly's life was a beacon of light and love. Her personality was a tapestry of grace, humor, and kindness, and she was always ready to lend her support to anyone in need. Her legacy is one of love, resilience, and a genuine commitment to making the world a better place.
Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Beverly are invited to celebrate her life on November 18, 2025, at Belmont Funeral Home, located at 7120 West Belmont Avenue, Chicago, Illinois. The service will begin at 9:00 AM, offering a time for reflection, remembrance, and shared memories.
