Beverly H Martin

February 28, 1944 — September 14, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Beverly H Martin, who left this world peacefully at her home on September 14, 2026. Born on February 28, 1944, in Atlanta, Georgia, Beverly led a life full of love, dedication, and service. Beverly was the cherished daughter of the late Wille Guy and Volue Henderson. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Willie Frank Martin, her son, Edwin Alexander, and her siblings, Willie, Edward, Calvin, Ines, Dorothy, and Gail. Despite these losses, Beverly's heart and home remained full, surrounded by her surviving family: James (Brenda) Alexander, Audrey (Bobby) Dye, Keith Alexander, Becky Thomas, and her loving goddaughter, Regina (Carey) Demmons. Her legacy lives on through her eight grandchildren, Shaunteria, Megiel, Jamarcus, Jameria, Adrienne, Kristen, Autumn, and Christopher, as well as her four great-grandchildren, Sinah, Bailey, Naila, and Adonis. Beverly is also survived by her siblings, Lillie Reid, Betty Coleman, and Lois Wilson, alongside a host of other relatives and friends. Beverly's educational journey began in the Atlanta Public School System at Carver High School. She dedicated her professional life to the care and nurturing of others, working as a Certified Nursing Assistant in various facilities and private homes. Her career culminated in a fulfilling role as a baby nurse and nanny, where she cared for countless children until her retirement. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life; she committed herself to God in 1971, joining the Move of God Church under Pastors Edward and Francis Harris. In 2014, she continued her spiritual journey with the Message of Truth Ministries, led by Pastor Dr. Charles A. Smith. Beverly was a faithful member of the church and a cherished participant in the Golden Jewels Bible study class. Beverly had a vibrant passion for cooking, known far and wide for her delightful cakes, renowned banana bread, and savory chicken salad. Her culinary skills brought joy to many, as she often catered events, sharing her love for food with her community. Her personality was as rich as her cooking, marked by a quick wit and expressive demeanor that commanded respect and imparted wisdom. Beverly was never afraid to speak the truth, offering guidance and support to those she loved. A celebration of Beverly's life will be held on September 26, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Message of Truth Ministries, located at 850 McWilliams Rd, SE Atlanta, Georgia 30315. The family extends their deepest gratitude to the Affinity Hospice staff, Budd Terrace Rehab staff, and FL. Sims Funeral Home staff, along with all those whose visits and prayers have provided comfort during this time.
