It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the peaceful transition of Beulah M. Calhoun, who departed this life on April 9, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and cherished memories. Born on February 28, 1958, in the close-knit community of Utica, Mississippi, Beulah was a beacon of warmth and kindness throughout her 68 years. Beulah was the beloved daughter of the late Clifton and Beulah Stamps, who instilled in her the values of dedication and compassion that she carried throughout her life. She was predeceased by her husband, Dexter Calhoun, her parents, and her siblings Clifton Stamps Jr., Booker Stamps, Doris Stamps, and Janette Stamps. Her passing marks the end of an era, yet her spirit lives on in the hearts of many. She is survived by her devoted son, Deron Stamps, and his wife, Michelle, who were the center of her world. Her heart was filled with pride for her seven grandchildren: Dayonna, Alize, Deron Jr., Aiden, Zachary, Peyton, and Ethan, and her six great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and fulfillment. Beulah's family was her greatest treasure, and she leaves behind a myriad of nieces, nephews, extended family, and close friends who will forever hold her memory dear. Education was a cornerstone in Beulah's life. She began her academic journey in Mississippi, graduating proudly from Hinds Agricultural High School. Her thirst for knowledge led her to Jackson State University, where she continued her studies, embodying a spirit of lifelong learning and personal growth. Beulah dedicated her career to the healthcare field as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Her calling was one of service and compassion, as she provided hands-on care to those in need. Her work was more than a job; it was a testament to her patience, empathy, and unwavering commitment to treating others with dignity and respect. Her professional life mirrored her personal philosophy: to care for others and to make a difference in the lives of those around her. Those fortunate enough to have known Beulah would describe her as nurturing, selfless, and resilient. She was a devoted wife and mother, always putting her family first. Her strength was quiet yet unyielding, her perseverance a guiding light through life's challenges. Beulah's love for her family was the foundation of her existence, and she devoted her life to maintaining close bonds and supporting her loved ones with unwavering dedication. As we gather to celebrate her life, a service will be held on April 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Utica Institute Baptist Church, located at 1254 Chapman Rd., Utica, MS 39175. It is here that we will honor the remarkable woman she was and the profound impact she had on all who knew her. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to all caregivers, nurses, and medical staff who showed compassion and dignity throughout Beulah's care. Your kindness brought comfort during a difficult time and will always be deeply appreciated. We also express sincere gratitude to the institutions and facilities that provided guidance and assistance. Your dedication made a meaningful difference. A special thank-you is given to friends and loved ones who offered prayers, visits, and support. Your love and encouragement strengthened the family beyond measure. In the words of the family, "Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day—unseen, unheard, but always near." Beulah M. Calhoun will forever be a cherished presence in the lives of those she touched. Her legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire and guide us all.
