It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved matriarch, Bettye Broadnax, who departed this life peacefully on July 10, 2026, at AdventHealth Tampa. Born on May 5, 1934, in the gentle embrace of Autugaville, Alabama, Bettye was a beacon of love, wisdom, and strength to all who knew her. Bettye was the cherished daughter of Mose and Mary Battles, who preceded her in death. She was also reunited with her beloved daughter, grandson, and granddaughter who had gone before her. Despite these losses, Bettye's spirit remained indomitable; her love and dedication to her family were unwavering. She leaves behind a rich legacy through her surviving children, whose lives she touched with her nurturing spirit and boundless affection. Her love extended to her cherished grandchildren, twelve in total, and two precious great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Bettye also leaves behind three devoted siblings, and a host of nieces and nephews who mourn her passing deeply. Throughout her life, Bettye exemplified the virtues of kindness, generosity, and resilience. Her gentle smile and warm embrace were a comfort to many, and she had an uncanny ability to make everyone feel special and loved. Her home was a sanctuary of warmth and hospitality, a place where family and friends gathered to share stories, laughter, and love. Bettye's life will be celebrated on July 18, 2026, with a service at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church, located at 205 D. St. Lake Wales, FL 33853. It is here where family and friends will gather to honor and remember the remarkable life she led and the countless lives she touched. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Bettye's memory to a charity of your choosing, reflecting her generous spirit and lifelong commitment to helping others. Bettye Broadnax's legacy is one of love, compassion, and strength. Her memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. As we say goodbye to a truly remarkable woman, we find solace in knowing that her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us all.
