Betty Mae (Lee) Brown. Betty passed away peacefully at home on July 12, 2026, at the age of 92, surrounded by the love of her daughter.
Born on June 16, 1934, in Detroit, Michigan, Betty was the daughter of the late Marie and Floyd Lee. Betty was predeceased by her parents, her siblings, her devoted husband of 65 years Eldred Brown, whom she married in January 1955, and her beloved sons Gerald Tyrone and Russell Louis Despite the profound losses she faced, Betty's spirit remained unbroken and her heart open, nurturing those around her with unwavering love and compassion.
Betty was a proud alumna of Commerce High School, from which she graduated in 1951. Her career was marked by dedicated service to the City of Detroit, where she worked for the Department of Transportation until her retirement.
Her legacy lives on through her surviving daughter Robin Marie, grandchildren, Stephanie, Khary, Ayana, Ajney and Marjoni; three great-grandchildren, Domany, Neveh and Adonis. Betty also leaves behind an extended family of nieces, nephews, and friends, each of whom enriched her life as much as she enriched theirs. Her home was a sanctuary of laughter, wisdom, and love, where all were welcomed and celebrated.
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” John 14 1:3
God’s Promise: The grass withers, the flowers fade. But the word of God shall stand forever. Isiah 40:8
