Betty Sue Walden Alsobrook, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2026. Born on May 22, 1931, in Tuscumbia, Alabama, Betty was the cherished daughter of George and Julia Walden. Betty's life was a testament to love, dedication, and service. She graduated from Deshler High School in 1949 and went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Home Economics from the University of North Alabama. Her passion for nurturing others led her to a career in teaching, where she touched the lives of many students before devoting herself entirely to her family. On December 17, 1955, Betty married the love of her life, Payne Alsobrook. Together, they built a beautiful life, sharing 60 years of marriage filled with joy, support, and unwavering commitment. Payne preceded her in death, but their love story remains an enduring legacy. Betty found immense joy in her family, especially in her role as a mother and grandmother. She is survived by her loving daughter, Leah Caraway, and her treasured grandchildren, Bryan and Stephen Hill, and Ashley Wittig. Her grandchildren were her second greatest joy, and she poured her heart into being an ever-present and devoted grandmother. Betty was an active and dedicated member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she served on the altar guild and took great pleasure in delivering meals through the Meals on Wheels program. Her faith and service to her community were cornerstones of her life, and she will be remembered for her kindness and generosity. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Julia Walden, her brother, Eliis Walden, and her beloved husband, Payne Alsobrook. Their memories live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved them. A graveside service celebrating Betty's life will be held on October 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Oakwood Cemetery in Tuscumbia, Alabama. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of a remarkable woman whose life was defined by love, grace, and service. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Trinity United Methodist Church in Huntsville, Alabama, honoring Betty's deep faith and dedication to her church community. Betty Sue Walden Alsobrook's legacy of love and service will forever be remembered and cherished by all who were fortunate to know her.
