Betty Marie {Clevenger} Vidas

Betty Marie {Clevenger} Vidas, a cherished daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, peacefully took her leave from this world on July 16, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family at her home. Born on March 19, 1930, in Plymouth, Indiana, Betty was the beloved daughter of Walter and Edna Clevenger. Betty was blessed with a life filled with love and companionship. She shared 35 beautiful years of marriage with her late husband, Edward Vidas. Though she did not serve in the military herself, Betty was the devoted wife of two servicemen, supporting her partners throughout their combined 50 years of dedication to our country. In her professional life, Betty wore many hats, excelling as a secretary, a bank loan officer, and in various other roles. Her work ethic was matched only by her creativity and passion for sewing. As a talented seamstress, she crafted exquisite clothing, jackets, purses, and quilts, leaving a legacy of warmth and love in every stitch. Her quilts, whether small treasures for grandchildren or grand blankets for beds, were a testament to her skill and devotion. Betty had a zest for life that was evident in her many interests. She enjoyed playing golf and traveled extensively throughout the United States and Canada. Her vibrant spirit often found her on the dance floor, whether chaperoning her children's dances or simply enjoying the rhythm herself. She was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Edna Clevenger, her sisters Lois Dodson and Jean Slete, her husband Edward Vidas, and her son Frank Reid. Her memory will continue to be cherished by her brother Jim Clevenger, her daughters Debra Faulk and Susan Flowers, her son Mike Reid, and her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Betty was a beacon of strength and beauty, a steadfast presence in the lives of her children and friends. Her ability to be a pillar of support, a source of laughter, and a trusted advisor endeared her to all who knew her. She taught those around her the true meaning of trust, love, and friendship. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Hospice for their compassionate care and support during Betty's final days. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Betty's memory to a charity or organization of their choice. Betty's life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and resilience. She will be dearly missed, but her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
