Betty Jo was the beloved daughter of the late Marlin and Thomas Clayton, who instilled in her the values of kindness, resilience, and a deep commitment to family—virtues she carried throughout her life. She is predeceased by her loving husband, Oscar Nesbitt, and her dear sister, Melissa Sims, along with her brother, Theodore Clayton, all of whom she treasured deeply and whose memories she honored every day. Betty Jo was a beacon of warmth and kindness, illuminating the lives of everyone she encountered. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering support were the cornerstone of her family, and her legacy continues through her children: Candace Sims-Nesbitt (David Sims), Dwayne Nesbitt, Michael Nesbitt, Leon Nesbitt, and Christine Jones-Nesbitt (Paul Jones). Betty Jo's heart overflowed with pride for her grandchildren, Rozelle Nesbitt (Zikia Nesbitt), Tina Smith (Robbie Smith), Michael Nesbitt, Ashley Mays (Shawn Mays), and Sierra Nesbitt, along with her beloved great-grandchildren, who were her constant source of joy and inspiration. The essence of Betty Jo's life was her unwavering dedication to family and community. She found immense joy in gatherings filled with laughter, love, and the stories that bind generations together. Her home was a sanctuary of warmth, where friends and family were always welcomed with open arms and a heart full of love. In accordance with her wishes, a private ceremony will be held to honor Betty Jo's life and legacy.
