BETTY JEAN RICHARDSON

October 30, 1949 — April 6, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that we announce the peaceful passing of Betty Jean Richardson, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Born on October 30, 1949, in Macon, Georgia, Betty entered eternal rest on April 6, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Her journey on earth was marked by warmth, compassion, and an unwavering dedication to those she loved. Betty was the cherished daughter of the late Mr. Eddie and Mrs. Olevia Eason and the granddaughter of Mr. Jerry and Mrs. Betsy Riggins. She joins in eternal peace her brothers, Mr. Spelman Eason and Mr. Eddie Eason, Jr., and her beloved grandson, Mr. Antonio Venchasio Flagg-Lewis. Betty's heart and home were always full, and her spirit will live on through her devoted family. She is survived by her lifetime partner, Mr. George Dudley of Columbus, GA, who stood by her side through life's many joys and challenges. Betty was the proud and loving mother of four children: Ms. Verlene L. Lewis of Fort Bragg, NC; Ms. Beverly Flagg-Dumas of Macon, GA; Mr. William Alexander Flagg of Reynolds, GA; and Mr. Charles D. Richardson of Gray, GA. Her nurturing spirit extended to her siblings, Mrs. Ruth May Watkins of Macon, GA, Marion Burney of Gordon, GA, Mrs. Mary Tolbert of Macon, GA, and her brother, Mr. Jerry Eason. Blessed with 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, Betty's legacy is woven into the fabric of a large and loving family. She imparted wisdom, kindness, and a sense of joy in every interaction, always welcoming everyone with a smile and a hug. Her ability to listen with genuine interest and empathy made her a confidante to many. Betty was a proud graduate of Ballard-Hudson High School, and she carried her education forward into a fruitful career as a cosmetologist. Mentored by her uncle, the late Cicero Riggins, at Beautyland Styles in Macon, GA, Betty found joy and fulfillment in her work, transforming not just hair but also lives with her gentle touch and uplifting presence. The family will honor Betty's life and legacy on April 18, 2026, at Bentley and Sons Funeral Home, located at 3700 Pio Nono Ave, Macon, GA. Services will commence at 2:00 PM, providing an opportunity for family and friends to gather, reminisce, and celebrate a life beautifully lived. As we reflect on Betty's incredible journey, we are reminded of the words from Second Corinthians 13:11-14: "Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice! Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you." Betty Jean Richardson's life was a testament to love, unity, and unwavering grace. Her memory will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing her. May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us all as we bid farewell to a remarkable woman who touched so many lives.
