It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the passing of Betty Jean Holston, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Betty departed this world peacefully on March 21, 2026, at Intermountain Medical Hospital, wrapped in the love of her family. Born on September 12, 1940, in the serene town of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Betty was the cherished daughter of Wilbert and Lois Mason, who preceded her in death. Betty’s journey through life was marked by an infectious smile and a laugh that could light up even the darkest of days. Her warmth and kindness were felt by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Betty’s arms were always open, ready to embrace anyone in need of comfort. Her frequent refrain, “If it ain’t one thing, it’s another,” was a testament to her resilient spirit and her ability to navigate life’s ups and downs with grace and humor. Betty was a devoted and loving mother to her children:Micheal Mitchell, Norris Ratcliff, Virginia Pike (Marty), Jeannette Smith, Yvonne Smith, Ernestine Owens, and Delerie Magee (Tim). Her nurturing spirit extended to her 21 grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly, and numerous great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life. She found great pleasure in spending time with her family, creating memories that will be cherished for generations. Betty was predeceased by her beloved parents, Wilbert and Lois Mason, and her dear son, Michael Mitchell. Her legacy of love and kindness will continue to live on through her surviving family members, who will forever hold her in their hearts. A woman of many talents and passions, Betty found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was renowned for her culinary skills, especially her famous banana pudding, which was a staple at family gatherings. Her home was always filled with the delightful aroma of home-cooked meals, a testament to her love of cooking for her family. Betty's affection extended beyond her family also to everyone who was around her. A celebration of Betty’s life will be held on April 4, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Redwood Memorial, located at 6500 S Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah 84123. Proceeding to Mount Olivet Cemetery where family and friends are invited to gather and honor the remarkable life of a woman who gave so much to others. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at IHC in Murray for their patience and care during Betty’s final days. Betty Jean Holston will be remembered for her boundless love, her generous spirit, and her unwavering strength. Her legacy will continue to touch the lives of all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
