Betty Jane Demuth

It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that we announce the passing of Betty Jane Demuth, who left this world peacefully on September 2, 2026, surrounded by the compassionate care of Phoenix Hospice and the Hospice Wing of Wesley Medical Center. Born on December 5, 1936, in the Township of Johnstown, Wisconsin, Betty was the beloved daughter of Otto and Annie Lammert. She was the youngest of her siblings and is now reunited with her dear husband, Dennis Demuth, her son, Corey Demuth, and her siblings, Irene, Alvin, Melvin, Donny, Bill, Walter, and Otto. Betty’s life was a testament to love, resilience, and warmth. She married Dennis Demuth on July 22, 1955, embarking on a beautiful journey that would see them create a loving family and share countless treasured moments. Betty was a devoted mother to her children, Denise Edwards, Wendy Demuth, Craig Demuth, Gery Demuth, and Perry Demuth. She was a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren: Justin, Chris, Samantha, Hayden, Desirray, Hannah, Isaac, and Mallorey, and a great-grandmother to nine precious great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life. A dedicated mother, housewife, and waitress, Betty was celebrated for her remarkable cooking and baking skills. She had a gift for making others feel special through her culinary delights, from homemade jams and donuts to pickles and breads. Her birthday cakes were legendary among her children and friends, and she was often sought after for her baking talents. Betty’s love for Christmas was infectious; she delighted in lavishing her family with festive foods and treats, making the holiday season truly magical. Betty’s kindness extended beyond her family. She had a profound love of flowers and gardening, nurturing both with a gentle touch and a joyful heart. Her summer backyard parties in Liberal, Kansas, were eagerly anticipated gatherings, where family and close friends came together in celebration and togetherness. A service to honor Betty’s life will be held on October 3, 2026, at 3:00 PM in the tranquil setting of the Resthaven Cemetery Rose Garden, located at 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, KS 67209. Following the service, a time of sharing and remembrance will take place at the Clearwater Community/Senior Center in Clearwater, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society - Breast Cancer Fund, in Betty’s memory. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the Wesley Medical Center ER Group, Hospice Wing Nurses, and Enoble Medical Group for their compassionate care and support during Betty’s final days. Betty Jane Demuth leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity, and cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
