Betty J Robinson
June 23, 1935 — July 10, 2026
Betty Jean Robinson, a beloved matriarch and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2026, in the comforting presence of her devoted family and friends with the compassionate care of hospice. Born on June 23, 1935, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Betty's life was a testament to love, faith, and unwavering dedication to family and community.
Betty was the treasured daughter of Charles D Robinson and Lula M Robinson. She was predeceased by her parents, her son Timmie L Robinson, her sisters Jessie Stone and Marilyn Williams, her brothers Charles Robinson Jr. and Ernest Robinson, as well as her precious grandchildren Lugresha Robinson, Jvieon Young, and Myone Robinson. While these losses were profound, Betty's spirit was continually uplifted by the love and support of her surviving family: her daughters Shirley Robinson, Linda Young (Earl), and Carlotta Thomas; her siblings Rosie Cranford, Catherine Jones, Leon Robinson, Claude Robinson, and Rayford Robinson; and her dear cousin and sister at heart, Helen Williams.
Betty's legacy is lovingly carried forward by her eight grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, whose lives have been immeasurably enriched by her nurturing presence. Her family was the center of her world, and her home was a place of joy and togetherness, especially during the holidays, which she celebrated with boundless enthusiasm.
A graduate of Dunjee High School, Betty's career journey took her from the bustling kitchens of Oklahoma City public schools, where she honed her skills as a baker, to a dedicated 20-year tenure at Nuway Laundry. However, it was at Sunbeam Family Services where she truly found her calling, providing compassionate care to older individuals, a testament to her generous and loving nature.
Betty's spiritual journey was deeply rooted in her faith, beginning at St. Paul's Baptist Church in Spencer, Oklahoma, and continuing through St. Luke's Baptist Church and Follower's of Christ, before finding her spiritual home at Greater Bethel Baptist Church. Her devotion was evident through her active participation in the Usher Board, Women's Ministry Group, Bible School, and Prayer Service. Betty was not only a devoted congregant but also a beacon of faith, often sharing her love for God with family and friends, inviting them to partake in church events.
Her kindness and generosity were legendary. Betty was known for her gift-giving nature and her readiness to help anyone in need. She taught those around her the importance of faith, prayer, and service, leaving behind a legacy of love and compassion that will be cherished by all who knew her.
A service to celebrate Betty's remarkable life will be held on July 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Greater Bethel Church, located at 1601 NE 24th St, Oklahoma City, OK 73111. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Bellevue Health and Rehab and Providence Hospice of Oklahoma City for the exceptional care provided to Betty in her final days.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Betty's memory to a charity of your choice, honoring her legacy of caring and service.
Betty J Robinson will be deeply missed but forever remembered by the countless lives she touched with her warmth, faith, and unwavering love. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
