Betty Helbig

March 31, 1958 — April 6, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Betty Helbig, who departed this world peacefully at home on April 6, 2026, at the age of 68. Betty's journey began on March 31, 1958, in the warm and welcoming town of New Albany, Indiana, where she was born to her loving mother, Mary Sparrow. Betty was a woman of grace, kindness, and unwavering love, traits that she carried with her throughout her life. Her gentle spirit and compassionate nature left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was a beacon of light and warmth, offering a welcoming smile and a listening ear to anyone in need. Betty was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Ronald Helbig, whose partnership in life was a testament to the power of love and commitment. Together, they built a life filled with shared dreams and cherished memories. She was also predeceased by her dear mother, Mary Sparrow, and her beloved sister, Tina Hooper, each of whom she held close in her heart. Family was the cornerstone of Betty's life. She was a proud and dedicated grandmother to four grandchildren, who were the pride and joy of her life. Her love and wisdom extended further to embrace two great-grandchildren, who brought an added sparkle to her eyes and filled her days with laughter and love. Though her passing leaves an emptiness that cannot be filled, Betty's legacy of love and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Her family and friends will always remember her for her unwavering strength, her generous spirit, and her boundless capacity to love. In accordance with Betty's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor her memory. While this will be a time for intimate reflection and remembrance, we know that many will hold her in their thoughts and prayers. Betty Helbig's journey may have come to an end, but her story will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know and love her. She is now reunited with those who have gone before her, resting in eternal peace, and watching over her family with the same love and care that defined her earthly life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that acts of kindness be done in Betty's memory, a fitting tribute to a woman who touched so many lives with her own gentle kindness.
