Betty peacefully departed this life on June 12, 2026, at the age of 79. Her journey began in Columbus, Mississippi, on June 8, 1947, born to the late John and Mary Ann Dixon, who instilled in her the values of love, kindness, and resilience that she carried throughout her life.
Betty was a woman of grace and strength, known for her unwavering dedication to her family and her deep faith. Her spirit was a beacon of love that illuminated the lives of everyone she touched. A devoted mother, she raised her children with warmth and compassion, teaching them the importance of kindness and integrity.
Betty was predeceased by her cherished family members Linda Johnson, Eric Johnson, Jackson Johnson, and Willie Johnson. Though their absence left a void in her heart, her memories of them remained a source of comfort and strength.
Her legacy is carried on by her loving family, including her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Betty was a nurturing grandmother to nine grandchildren and a doting great-grandmother to five great-grandchildren. She took immense joy in their accomplishments and cherished every moment spent in their company, always ready with a listening ear and wise words of encouragement.
Betty's unwavering faith was a cornerstone of her life. She found solace and strength within the community of Third Mt Olive Baptist Church, where she was a dedicated member for many years. Her faith guided her through life's trials and triumphs, and she shared this gift with those around her through her kind spirit and generous heart.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Betty's life and honor her memory at a service to be held on June 19, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Third Mt Olive Baptist Church, located at 904 Moseley Ave, West Point, Mississippi.
