It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Betty Covey, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, who left this world on February 16, 2026, at the age of 90. Betty was born on August 17, 1935, in Elkhart, Indiana, where she was nurtured and surrounded by a loving community that shaped her into the extraordinary woman she became.
Betty was predeceased by her devoted husband, Lawrence Covey, with whom she shared 53 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Their union was a testament to the power of love and commitment.
A proud alumna of Concord High School, Betty pursued her passion for helping others by obtaining a degree in Nursing. She dedicated 45 years of her life to her career as a registered nurse, where her compassionate nature and unwavering dedication touched countless lives. Her colleagues and patients alike admired her for her tireless work ethic, gentle hands, and kind heart.
Betty's true joy in life was her family. She is survived by her children, who were the center of her world. Her nurturing spirit extended to her five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Her home was always filled with the aroma of her delicious cooking, a testament to her remarkable culinary skills, and the warmth of her love, sewn into every stitch of the quilts and clothes she lovingly crafted.
Known for her generous spirit and gracious demeanor, Betty's life was a beacon of kindness and care. Her cooking abilities were legendary, with recipes passed down through generations, ensuring her legacy of love continues to nourish and comfort her family.
In accordance with Betty's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor her life and the beautiful impact she made on those around her.
