It is with profound sadness and a deep sense of loss that we announce the passing of Bette Ann Munns, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Bette left this world peacefully on April 23, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family, at the age of 85.
Bette's journey began on June 11, 1940, in the charming town of La Crosse, Wisconsin, where she was born to Alice Knutson. Her early years were filled with love and laughter, setting the stage for a life rich in warmth and kindness. Bette's life was a testament to the power of love, resilience, and dedication.
In 1956, Bette married the love of her life, Harold Munns, in Dubuque, Iowa. Together, they built a life filled with joy, laughter, and shared dreams. They were partners in every sense, from maintaining the family farm to raising their beloved children, Cheryll Jeidy (Mike), Rick Munns (Vicki), and Rhonda Arndt (Bob). Bette's family was the center of her world, and she devoted herself wholeheartedly to creating a loving and nurturing environment for them.
Bette's professional life was marked by her dedication and tireless work ethic. She contributed over 30 years of service to Rayovac, where her commitment and integrity were respected and admired by all who knew her.
A devout member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Fennimore and Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Eagle River, Bette's faith was a guiding light throughout her life. Her warm smile and welcoming personality were a testament to her belief in the goodness of people and the power of community. She had an innate ability to make everyone feel at home, always ready with a kind word or a comforting story from her past.
Bette's life was filled with simple pleasures that brought immense joy. She found happiness in spending time at their campers with family and friends, fishing, dancing, and traveling with Harold. Her passion for motorcycles and love for lights of any kind were just a few of the many unique qualities that endeared her to so many.
Bette is predeceased by her beloved husband, Harold, her mother Alice Knutson, her son-in-law Bruce Baumgartner, and several siblings, nephews, and in-laws. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her children, her siblings Esther Williams, Larry Wilson, and Jim Wilson, her grandchildren Jason Baumgartner (Dana), Sara Jeidy, Phillip Baumgartner (Danielle), Jenny Jeidy (Kurt), and Trevor Munns, and her great-grandchildren Madison, Mason, Brady, Hunter, Hannah, Stephanie, Justin, Dayton, and Ethan.
