May 19, 1939 — April 3, 2026

Beth “Charleen” Fekas, a cherished wife, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, peacefully passed away on April 3, 2026, after a brief battle with illness. Born on May 19, 1939, in the sunny town of South Gate, California, Charleen was the beloved daughter of Dorothy and Flavis Kilgarriff. Charleen was a woman of unwavering spirit and gentle grace, deeply devoted to her family and her passions. She shared a beautiful life with her husband, Bill, who stood by her side through every chapter of their journey together. Their love story was one for the ages, filled with laughter, shared dreams, and a deep, abiding love that was a guiding light for their family. Together, Charleen and Bill raised two wonderful children, John and Teresa Fekas, who were the pride and joy of her life. Charleen’s nurturing spirit and endless love for her family extended to her cherished granddaughter, Christina (Cole) Groteluschen, and her great-grandchildren, Vivian and Henry, who brought immense joy and laughter into her later years. Charleen’s heart was as expansive as the great outdoors she adored. An avid lover of the natural world and its creatures, she found solace and joy in spending countless hours in her tack room, surrounded by the scent of leather and hay, devouring Western novels and riding her horses. These moments spent in nature, with the wind in her hair and the earth beneath her feet, were among her most treasured memories. Although her departure leaves a profound void, Charleen’s spirit and legacy will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends. In accordance with her wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor her memory and celebrate the beautiful life she lived. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Bill Fekas Family Christmas Dinner, PO Box 2173, Salina, Kansas 67402, in Charleen’s memory. This gesture will continue her legacy of love and generosity, bringing warmth and kindness to others, just as she did throughout her life. Charleen’s family extends their deepest gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. May we all find comfort in the memories we shared with Charleen and let her spirit guide us in our own lives with the same grace, love, and compassion she bestowed upon us all.
