October 16, 1943 — March 13, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Berthina Susan Keith, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who peacefully entered into rest on March 13, 2026, after many months of bravely battling cancer. Berthina was born on October 16, 1943, in the sunny state of Florida, to her loving parents, John Lance Keith and Diana Johnson. Her life, spanning over 82 years, was a testament to resilience, love, and the quiet joy she found in the simple pleasures of life. Berthina, or "Bertie" as she was affectionately known by her friends and family, was a woman of grace and warmth. Her gentle spirit was evident in her love for the outdoors, where she spent countless serene hours sitting on her porch or in her backyard, gazing up at the sky. It was in these moments that she found peace and inspiration, appreciating the vastness of the world and the beauty of nature. A devoted mother, Berthina's legacy lives on through her three children: Dryden Keith, Dexter Keith, and Treyvon Jackson, who all carry forward her kindness and compassion in their own lives. Her nurturing spirit extended to her six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She cherished every moment spent with them, celebrating their milestones and offering wisdom and love that will be remembered for generations to come. Berthina's life was a tapestry woven with love, strength, and an enduring commitment to her family. Her home was a sanctuary of warmth, where laughter was plentiful, and love was unconditional. She taught those around her the value of patience, the joy of simple pleasures, and the importance of family. In accordance with Berthina's wishes, a private ceremony will be held to honor her life. Though she preferred a quiet remembrance, her impact on those who knew her was profound and will be lasting. As we bid farewell to Berthina, we hold close the memories of her gentle smile, her loving embrace, and the quiet strength that defined her life. Though she has departed from this world, her spirit remains, a guiding light for all who loved and cherished her. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those wishing to honor Berthina’s memory consider spending an afternoon outdoors, gazing at the sky in reflection of her love for nature, or perhaps sharing a moment of kindness with someone in need, just as she would have done. Berthina Susan Keith will be deeply missed but forever remembered by her family and friends. May she rest in peace, her spirit forever soaring in the skies she so dearly loved.
