Bernard Paul Raymond

September 9, 1949 — April 22, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bernard Paul Raymond, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who departed this world peacefully at his home in Oviedo, Florida, on April 22, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on September 9, 1949, in Plymouth, Michigan, Bernard was a beacon of love and generosity, whose life was a testament to kindness and laughter. Bernard was the cherished son of Ellen and Henry Raymond Sr. He was preceded in death by his beloved sister, Sharon Raymond, and dear brother, Henry Raymond Jr. Bernard's legacy of love and family continues through his daughters, Shiela Loomis (Drew) and Jaime Raymond (Brian), and his treasured grandchildren, Nathan, Rylan, and Hayden Loomis, who were the light of his life. In Taylor, Michigan, Bernard found his soulmate in Valarie Bryson. Together, they forged a strong and enduring partnership, raising two wonderful daughters over their 25 years of marriage. Their life together was filled with shared joys and adventures, a journey marked by deep affection and mutual respect. A proud alumnus of Belleville High School, Bernard went on to serve his country with honor in the US Navy, where he developed lifelong friendships and a deep sense of duty. After his military service, he dedicated 32 years to the Ford Motor Company, retiring in 2004. Bernard's commitment to his work was only surpassed by his devotion to his family. Bernard had a passion for the great outdoors, spending countless hours hunting, fishing, and tending to his farm and greenhouse. These hobbies were more than just pastimes; they were opportunities to share his love for nature with his family. Winters spent with his grandchildren in Florida were particularly special to him, as he delighted in watching them grow and flourish. Those who knew Bernard will remember him for his generous spirit, loving nature, and infectious sense of humor. He had a unique ability to bring joy to every room he entered, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him. A celebration of Bernard's life will be held on May 17, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Jonny's on the Lake. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Bernard are invited to gather in remembrance of an extraordinary life, well-lived. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Bernard's memory to a charity of your choice, as a way to honor his generous spirit and commitment to helping others. Bernard Paul Raymond will be deeply missed but never forgotten, as his spirit lives on in the hearts of those he loved.
