November 19, 1957 — April 22, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Benny Aukerman, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who left this earthly realm on April 22, 2026, at the age of 68. Benny was born on November 19, 1957, in the vibrant city of Kalamazoo, where he spent a life filled with love, laughter, and a legacy of cherished memories. Benny was the beloved son of the late Willard and Barbara (Heighton) Aukerman. He shared his upbringing with his siblings, and although preceded in death by his brothers, Ricky and Robert Aukerman, sister, Dianne Deem, and son-in-law, Timmy Blanton, Benny’s heart remained full with love for his surviving family. He is dearly missed by his devoted wife, Karen (Warren) Aukerman, who stood by his side through life’s many adventures. A proud and loving father, Benny is survived by his daughter, Dana (Chad Tassell) Blanton, and his son, Tyler (Hailie) Aukerman. He was a doting grandfather to his two grandchildren, Easton "Bud" Blanton and Bentlee "Grandpa's Big Boy" Aukerman, who brought immense joy and pride to his days. Benny's family was his world, and he delighted in sharing stories, photographs, and laughter with them, especially treasuring the daily updates about his grandson Bentlee. Benny was a man of many passions. An avid sports enthusiast, he was often found cheering for his favorite teams—the Detroit Tigers, Lions, and Red Wings. He also harbored a deep love for NASCAR, which provided countless hours of joy and excitement. However, it was on the greens of various golf courses that Benny found true contentment. He worked at many throughout his life, most notably at Milham Park Golf Course, where he combined his love for the game with a career. Music was another of Benny’s great loves, and he took pleasure in sharing his favorite tunes with family and friends, cultivating a rich tapestry of melodies that underscored his life’s journey. Known for his sense of humor, Benny was a man who loved to make others smile. His playful nature and knack for telling jokes made him a beloved figure among all who knew him. He had a way of picking on people with love, leaving them with laughter that echoed long after his words were spoken. Benny's life will be celebrated on May 4, 2026, at 11:00 PM at Adams - Redmond Funeral Home, located at 4100 S. Westnedge Ave., Kalamazoo. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of a man who touched the lives of so many with his warmth and humor. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of their choice, as a tribute to Benny’s generous spirit and enduring legacy. While Benny has left this world, the love he shared and the memories he created will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the laughter, stories, and smiles that he inspired. Rest in peace, dear Benny, knowing you were truly loved.
