In Loving Memory

Benny Aukerman
November 19, 1957 — April 22, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Benny Aukerman, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who left us on April 22, 2026. Benny was 68 years old and passed away peacefully in Kalamazoo, the place where his remarkable journey began on November 19, 1957. Born to Willard and Barbara (Heighton) Aukerman, Benny was cherished by those who knew him, and his legacy is a testament to a life well-lived.
Benny shared a beautiful life with his devoted wife, Karen (Warren) Aukerman, with whom he was united in marriage many years ago. Together, they built a home filled with love, laughter, and memories that will forever be cherished. Benny was a proud and loving father, and his greatest joy was his family, including his two wonderful grandchildren, who affectionately knew him as "Pawpaw." His heart swelled with pride for them, and he delighted in sharing stories and photographs, especially those of his newborn grandson, Bentlee, with family and friends.
Benny's life was one of dedication and passion. He was an avid sports fan, finding joy in cheering for his favorite teams—the Detroit Tigers, Lions, and Red Wings. His enthusiasm extended to NASCAR, which he followed with great interest. Benny's love for golf was unmatched, not just as a player but also through his work at various golf courses throughout his life. Most recently, he was a cherished member of the team at Milham Park Golf Course, where his presence was as constant as the sunrise over the greens.
Music was another of Benny's great loves, and he delighted in sharing his favorite tunes with those around him. A man of humor, Benny was known for his jokes and playful teasing, always ready to bring a smile to someone's face. His laughter was infectious, and his spirit was one that brought lightheartedness and joy to any gathering.
Benny was preceded in death by his dear brothers, Ricky and Robert Aukerman, his sister, Dianne Deem, and his son-in-law, Timmy Blanton. Though they have gone before him, they remain in our hearts, woven into the fabric of Benny's enduring legacy.
Family, friends, and all whose lives Benny touched are invited to celebrate his life on May 4, 2026, at 23:00, at Adams-Redmond Funeral Home, located at 4100 S. Westnedge Ave., Kalamazoo. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice in Benny's memory, reflecting the generosity and kindness he showed to all.
Benny Aukerman's memory will forever be a guiding light to those who knew him. His warmth, humor, and unwavering love for his family will be missed, but his spirit will remain with us, inspiring us to live with the same joy and passion that he embodied every day. As we say goodbye, we hold onto the precious memories and the love that will never fade.
