It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Bennie Lee Majette, who departed this life on August 1, 2026, at ECU Health Medical Center. Born on September 24, 1955, in Northampton County, Bennie was a beacon of strength, resilience, and unwavering love. Known lovingly as a walking miracle, Bennie faced life's challenges with courage and grace. Bennie was the cherished son of the late Thelman Majette and Louise Delotach Majette. His steadfast spirit and kindness were a testament to the values instilled by his beloved parents. He was predeceased by his siblings Donald, Jimmie, McKinley, and Raymond Majette, and his sister Thema Hackley. He is also reunited in eternal peace with his mother and father-in-law, Luvenia and Bishop Clarence Flowers. In 1975, Bennie married the love of his life, Linda Majette. Together they shared 51 years of marriage, filled with devotion, laughter, and countless treasured memories. Their union was blessed with a son, Bennie Lee Majette Jr., and their special daughter and niece, Jakera Majette, who held a special place in his heart. Bennie's legacy of love extends to his seven grandchildren: Roshod, Malachi, Wyhiem, Kenwyen, Nylin, Messiah, and Prince Majette, and his two great-grandchildren, Kash and Kahari Majette, who were his pride and joy. Bennie's commitment to family was matched by his dedication to his country and community. He served honorably in the Army National Guard, retiring after 23 years of distinguished service. His career as a skilled brick mason was marked by a tireless work ethic and a commitment to excellence, virtues that remained evident in every facet of his life. A graduate of West Craven High School in 1974, Bennie's life was a tapestry woven with love, service, and an unyielding spirit. He is survived by his devoted spouse, Linda, siblings Vivan Majette, Linda B. Moore, Cecil Majette and his wife Gladys, and Gladys Hargett. His family, extended family, and friends will forever cherish his memory. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Bennie are invited to celebrate his life on August 8, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Undenominational Pentecostal Holiness Church of Rocky Run, located at 5325 Hwy 17 South, New Bern, NC 28562. In remembrance of Bennie's generous spirit and in lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of choice. Bennie Lee Majette's legacy of love, service, and unwavering faith will continue to inspire all who knew him. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
