With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Benjamin Cole, a beloved brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, who left us on July 9, 2026, at the age of 57. Born on April 12, 1968, in Ahoskie, North Carolina, Benjamin was the cherished son of the late Joseph Cole and Marienne Holloman-Cole. Benjamin's journey through life was guided by a profound love for his family and a deep passion for mechanical engineering. He was a proud alumnus of Lincoln High School, graduating in 1994, and went on to earn his mechanical engineering license from Roanoke Cowan Community College. His career spanned an impressive 35 years at Liedos, where he dedicated himself to his work with unwavering commitment and enthusiasm. Beyond his professional achievements, Benjamin was a man of many admirable qualities. He is remembered for his kindness and generosity, virtues that touched the lives of all who knew him. His love for music was only surpassed by his devotion to family, which was the cornerstone of his life. He possessed an infectious warmth that drew people to him, and his gentle spirit left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered. Benjamin's legacy lives on through his loving family. He is survived by his siblings, Kevin Cole, Charlene Cole-Bell, and Patricia Cole, who cherish the countless memories shared with their dear brother. His nieces and nephews, Christopher Bell, Roseana Bell, Fabian Cole, Teah Cole, and Amani Cole, along with his cousins Nelani Cole, Sky Cole, Sean Cole, and Taquell Cole, will forever hold him close in their hearts. In honor of Benjamin's memory, the family suggests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, reflecting his generous spirit and his commitment to making the world a better place. Benjamin Cole will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His life was a testament to love, compassion, and dedication, and his spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him. Ecclesiastes 3:1–8

To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; A time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; a time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; a time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
