It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Benjamin Castillo Valdez, beloved father, grandfather, and friend, on July 8, 2026. Born on August 14, 1942, in San Mateo Laoag City, Ilocos Norte Pl, Benjamin was the cherished son of the late Numeriano Valdez Sr. and Trifosa Valdez. His legacy of kindness, hard work, and dedication to family and community will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him. Benjamin led a fulfilling and industrious life, characterized by his dedication to his career as a Banquet Steward in the hotel business. His work ethic and attention to detail were admired by colleagues and clients alike, and he played a pivotal role in creating memorable experiences for countless guests. Beyond his professional life, Benjamin was known for his warmth, his sparkling sense of humor, and his ability to make everyone around him feel valued and loved. As a father, Benjamin was a guiding light to his daughter, Charity Saito, who looked up to him as both a mentor and a friend. His love and wisdom will continue to guide her and his grandchildren, who were the pride and joy of his life. Benjamin's two grandchildren brought immense happiness and fulfillment to his later years, and he relished every moment spent in their company. Benjamin's life will be celebrated in a service held at St. Elizabeth Church Aiea, located at 99-312 Moanalua Road, Aiea, HI 96701, on August 17, 2026, at 8:15 a.m. Family, friends, and all whose lives he touched are invited to honor his memory and share in the stories and laughter that epitomize his enduring spirit. In keeping with his generous heart and lifelong commitment to helping others, the family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charity of your choice in Benjamin's memory. This gesture will continue his legacy of kindness and compassion, supporting causes that reflect the values he held dear. Benjamin Castillo Valdez will be dearly missed, but his spirit will live on in the love and memories shared by all who were fortunate to know him. As we say goodbye, we hold onto the comfort that he is now at peace, reunited with his parents and watching over us with a smile. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
