In Loving Memory
Benita Linn Knuth
June 27, 1952 — March 5, 2026
It is with profound sadness and love that we announce the passing of Benita Linn Knuth, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Born on June 27, 1952, in the quaint town of New Martinsville, West Virginia, Benita peacefully departed this world on March 5, 2026, enveloped by the warmth and love of her devoted family.
Benita was the beloved daughter of the late John and Loretta Burlingame, who instilled in her the values of kindness, courage, and a zest for life. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Frederick Edson Knuth, with whom she shared a beautiful marriage that began on April 14, 1984. Their journey together was filled with laughter, adventure, and an unwavering bond that inspired all who knew them.
A proud veteran, Benita served her country honorably in the United States Air Force. Her dedication and precision shone brightly during her career as an Air Traffic Controller, a role she embraced with grace and diligence. Her colleagues remember her as a remarkable professional who brought calm and confidence to those around her.
Benita's life was a tapestry of rich experiences and joyous pursuits. Her love for the open water was evident in her cherished moments boating on the Chesapeake Bay, where the gentle waves mirrored her free spirit. In later years, she and Frederick embraced the freedom of the open road, exploring the country in their motorhome, collecting memories and friendships along the way.
Known for her sparkling personality and infectious laughter, Benita had an uncanny ability to find joy in every situation. She was always on the lookout for a good time, and her presence was a light that brightened the lives of everyone she encountered.
Benita leaves behind a legacy of love and family. Her daughters, Autumn Espinoza (Rich) and Lora Madrid (Tony), will forever hold her memory close to their hearts. Her grandchildren, Ava, Elizabeth, and Nikki, were the apples of her eye, and she took immeasurable pride in watching them grow and flourish.
As we reflect on Benita's remarkable life, we celebrate the warmth, love, and laughter she brought into the world. Her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched, a testament to a life well-lived.
In honoring Benita's wishes, a private family gathering will be held to celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice in Benita's memory, so that her spirit of generosity and kindness may continue to inspire others.
Benita Linn Knuth will be dearly missed but never forgotten. As we say goodbye, we find comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with her beloved Fred, sharing new adventures in the great beyond.
