Belva Marie Jordan
October 28, 1930 — April 13, 2026
Belva Marie Jordan, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2026, at the age of 95. Born on October 28, 1930, in the small town of Letart, West Virginia, Belva was a beacon of strength and kindness, whose warmth and generosity touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Belva was the beloved daughter of Ernest Blessing and Rena Sayre. She was preceded in death by her parents and her dear brothers, Edward Lee Barr, Ralph Blessing, and Howard "Pete" Blessing. Despite the losses she endured, Belva's spirit remained undiminished, a testament to her resilience and grace.
In her early years, Belva married the love of her life, Garland Jordan. Together, they created a vibrant life, raising twelve children until Garland's unexpected passing. Through life's trials and joys, Belva remained a constant source of love and support for her family. Her surviving children, Doris (Walter) Deneca, Audrey Bowling, Evelyn Little, Connie Bowen, Ramona (Bill) Wooten, Marcellene (David) Beegle, Pamela McFall, Tammy (Chuck) McDade, Lisa Jordan, and son Roger (Alice) Jordan, along with her sister Leona Brandon, will forever cherish her memory.
Belva's legacy extends to her 29 grandchildren and 65 great-grandchildren, an ever-growing family that she adored and nurtured with her boundless love. Her home was always open, a sanctuary where family and friends gathered, drawn by her infectious laughter and the comforting aroma of her home-cooked meals.
A woman of many talents, Belva's life was a tapestry of hard work and dedication. Her hands, strong and capable, tilled the earth as an avid farmer and gardener, while her entrepreneurial spirit shone through in the various bar establishments she ran with skill and aplomb. Her love for cooking and remodeling was matched only by her passion for spending time with family and friends, creating a home that was a haven for all who entered.
Belva was known far and wide for her big heart. She welcomed guests with open arms, embodying a spirit of hospitality that left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Her kindness and generosity were the cornerstone of her character, traits she imparted to her children and grandchildren, ensuring that her legacy of love endures.
The family invites all who wish to celebrate Belva’s remarkable life to join them for a service on April 17, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Baden Presbyterian Church. It will be a time to honor a remarkable woman who left an indelible mark on the world, a woman whose life was a testament to the power of love, family, and community.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Belva's memory to a charity of your choice, a fitting tribute to a woman who dedicated her life to caring for others. Belva Marie Jordan will be dearly missed, but her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
