Becky Young

Rebecca Carlton Young, 65, of Cypress, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 29th 2026 after a brave battle with cancer. Rebecca (Becky) was born on October 2nd 1960, in Haynesville, Louisiana to the late William (Bill) and Alice Carlton. The family moved to West Texas in 1964, where she graduated from Midland High School, thereafter relocating to Houston in 1988. After completing her teaching certification, Becky found her true vocation as a special education teacher, joining Klein ISD, at Kuehnle Elementary, where her people skills, tolerance, talent, and sense of humor shone through as she successfully guided numerous children through their challenging formative years. Via a chance phone call in May 2000 Becky met her future husband, Steve Young. They were married on November 18, 2000, spending 25 loving years together along with their home full of joyful dogs. Becky was preceded in death by her parents, and her memory will be forever cherished by her husband, Steve, sister Debbie Stephens and husband Rick, niece Hayley, brother Bill Carlton and wife Kathy, daughter Rhea and husband Colin McMillan, granddaughter Leo, close friends Teri and Mark Laine, along with many other relatives, friends and colleagues.
