Beatrice Sheldon-Aden, a beloved matriarch and cherished friend, peacefully passed away in her sleep after a brief illness. She was born on June 26, 1928, in the quiet town of Cedarville, Greene County, Ohio, to the late William B. Turner and Lucy B. Shaw.
Beatrice, known affectionately as Bea, led a life enriched with family, career, and community involvement. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Richard (Dick) H. Sheldon, her second husband Dewayne John Aden, and her siblings Milton Turner, Greg Turner, Charlotte Armstrong, Maude Elizabeth McDonald, and Genevieve Beck.
Her legacy lives on through her devoted children: sons Richard (Dianna), Randy (Robin), Tom (Lori), and daughter Kyle Sheldon Chandler (Fred). She was blessed with 12 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom she cherished dearly.
Bea married her first love, Richard (Dick) Sheldon, in Ohio on September 12, 1950. They shared a beautiful life until his passing in 1992. Finding love again, she married Dewayne John Aden in July of 1999, with whom she enjoyed several happy years until Johns death on 2016.
Bea's professional life was marked by her distinguished career as a legal secretary, primarily with Eugene Mast and the firm of Elder & Phillips. Her expertise was highly respected and sought after by colleagues and clients alike.
An active member of the First Presbyterian Church for over 60 years, Bea also found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved fishing at her favorite spot at the rockslide on Hotel Twin and spending time tending to her garden. Known for her vibrant personality, Bea made friends wherever she went. She had a passion for jigsaw puzzles and games, and she was never shy about engaging in a hearty political or community discussion.
A graveside service to honor Beatrice's life will be held on September 25, 2026, at Memorial Gardens, 2970 North Ave, Grand Junction, Colorado.
