With heavy hearts and profound appreciation for her life, the family of Beatrice Mary Gallant announces her peaceful passing on March 24, 2026, at the Dartmouth General. Born in Barrie, Ontario, on April 21, 1959, Beatrice's life was a testament to compassion, dedication, and unwavering love for her family and community. Beatrice was the cherished daughter of William and the late Audrey (Rose) Stokes. Her upbringing in Barrie was marked by a deep sense of family and community values which she carried throughout her life. She was a beloved sister to Evelyn Stokes and Peggy (David) Carr, with whom she shared countless joyous moments and cherished memories. On November 12, 1983, in the romantic city of Madrid, Beatrice married the love of her life, Blair Gallant. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, love, and support, celebrating 42 beautiful years of marriage. They were blessed with two sons, Aaron (Rose) Gallant and Ben (Sarah) Gallant, who brought immense pride and joy to Beatrice's life. Her legacy lives on in her two adored grandchildren, whose lives she enriched with her nurturing spirit and boundless affection. Beatrice dedicated over 30 years to her calling as a nurse in the burn unit, where her compassionate care and professional expertise brought comfort and healing to countless patients. Her colleagues and patients alike admired her unwavering commitment and gentle strength. A devoted member of the Hillside Wesleyan Church for over three decades, Beatrice found solace and shared her faith with a community she held dear. Her commitment to service and fellowship was an inspiration to all who knew her. Beyond her professional and community endeavors, Beatrice was an enthusiastic fan of the Toronto Blue Jays and an avid follower of curling. Her passion for these sports mirrored her vibrant spirit and her ability to find joy in the simple pleasures of life. As we gather to celebrate Beatrice's life, a service will be held on April 4, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Hillside Wesleyan Church, 80 Chameau Cres, Cole Harbour. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the IWK Foundation, a cause close to Beatrice’s heart. Beatrice Mary Gallant leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and dedication. Her absence will be deeply felt, but her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know her. May she rest in peace, embraced by the love she so generously gave to others.
