It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Beatrice Manuel Carter, who departed this world peacefully on May 12, 2026, at the age of 92. Born on September 29, 1933, in Jackson, Mississippi, Beatrice lived a full and vibrant life, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness. Beatrice was the cherished daughter of Fred Manuel Sr. and Mary Manuel, who instilled in her the values of compassion and resilience. She is predeceased by her loving parents, as well as her devoted husband, William Carter Sr., with whom she shared a beautiful marriage of over 50 years, beginning on June 21, 1956. Together, they built a family grounded in love and respect. A proud graduate of Lanier High School in Jackson, Mississippi, Class of 1953, Beatrice pursued a career that was as fulfilling as it was impactful. In 1955, she began working at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, dedicating 33 years of service as a cashier. Her colleagues remember her for her unwavering dedication and her ability to brighten even the most challenging days with her signature humor and courageous spirit. Beatrice's warmth extended beyond her professional life. She was a proud member of the Eastern Star, the largest fraternal organization in the world, where she fostered lifelong friendships and contributed to her community with grace and generosity. Her memory will forever be cherished by her surviving children, daughters Carolyn Carter and Pamela Carter, and sons William Carter Jr. and Ricky Carter. Her legacy continues through her 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, each of whom carries a piece of her heart. Beatrice is also survived by her dear siblings, Ethel Mary Manuel and Fred Manuel Jr., who shared in the joys and trials of life with her. Those who knew Beatrice remember her for her fun sense of humor and her courageous spirit, qualities that could lift anyone’s spirit. She had a unique ability to make everyone feel special, and her laughter was a melody that brought joy to all around her. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Beatrice's remarkable life at a service to be held on May 18, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Cynthia Church Of Christ (Holiness) USA, located at 3502 Shell Rock Road, Jackson, Mississippi 39213. The family extends their deepest gratitude to all who have supported them with prayers and love during this difficult time. As we say goodbye to Beatrice, we hold close the memories of a life well-lived and a heart that touched so many. Her legacy of love and laughter will continue to inspire us all. May she rest in eternal peace, reunited with those who have gone before her.
