Beatrice Colleen Robertson

February 15, 1937 — May 18, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Beatrice Colleen Robertson, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, who peacefully departed this world on May 18, 2026, at the age of 89. Beatrice, affectionately known as "Bea" to those who knew her well, was born on February 15, 1937, in the bustling city of Vancouver, BC, to parents Beatrice McColl and Buckley Shannon. From a young age, Bea exhibited a zest for life and a heart full of kindness. She grew up in a lively household alongside her cherished siblings, Bonnie, Kevin, and Patrick, all of whom she joins in eternal rest. Bea's early years were spent in Nanaimo where she attended high school, forging friendships and gaining the education that would lay the foundation for her future endeavors. In 1955, Bea married the love of her life, Alexander Robertson, whom she affectionately called Sandy. Their summer wedding marked the beginning of a partnership filled with love, laughter, and shared passions. Together, they nurtured a beautiful garden and a family that would grow to include four adoring daughters: Heather (Stan), Denice (Rick), Bobbi-Jo (Phil), and Andrea (Lincoln). Bea and Sandy's legacy continues through their eight grandchildren—Robert (Sacha), Patrick (Callie), William (Nicole), Stuart, Colin, Austin (Sandra), Dylan, and Jacob—and eleven great-grandchildren, lovingly known as Robert 1 and 2, Shyloh, Violet, Georgia, Cedar, Elliott, Willow, Sadie, Olive, and Harper. Beatrice was a woman of many talents and passions. After attending Dufferin Business College in Vancouver, she embarked on a fulfilling career as a dental receptionist for Dr. Booth and Dr. Bryson, proudly dedicating over 25 years to her work. Her career path also included various roles at the iconic Hudson's Bay Company, where her warmth and dedication left a lasting impression. Beyond her professional life, Bea was a beacon of service and creativity. A lifelong member of the Girl Guides, she devoted over 60 years to the movement, recently receiving recognition for her invaluable contributions. Her spirit of generosity extended to the PEO sorority and numerous volunteer roles. Bea's artistic flair shone through her quilting, sewing, knitting, and embroidery—skills that not only brought her joy but also warmth to those around her. Her quilts, often prize-winning, were a testament to her meticulous craftsmanship and creative vision. Those who knew Bea will forever remember her as a kind, caring, and compassionate soul. Her home was a haven where everyone felt welcome, and her hospitality was unmatched. Bea's garden, cultivated with Sandy, was a reflection of the beauty and care she infused into every aspect of her life. A celebration of Bea's life will be held on June 20, 2026, at Henderson's Funeral in Chilliwack. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Girl Guides of Canada, an organization that held a special place in Bea's heart. Though Bea has left this earthly realm, her spirit will remain forever in our hearts, as a beacon of love, kindness, and dedication. Her family carries her legacy forward, cherishing the memories of a life beautifully lived.
