Born on September 4, 1948, in Lowe River, Basil was a beloved son of the late Cebert and Gladys Wright. He lived a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication to his family and community.
Basil was a nurturing father to his children: Rose Mare Wright, Gladys Rosemarry Wright, Dalton Wright, Nakia Robinson, and Randolph Johnson. He was cherished by his grandchildren, including Quantesha Johnson and Paul Johnson, and blessed with a large family that expanded to include 17 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Basil is also survived by his brother, Ernest Wright, who shared many cherished memories with him over the years.
A pillar of strength and resilience, Basil shared a deep bond with Dolly Ruth Johnson, with whom he shared over 18 years of companionship. Together, they owned a restaurant and enjoyed the simple pleasures of picking fruit, creating a life full of warmth and hospitality. Her passing was a profound loss for Basil, but he now finds peace in joining her once again.
Basil's life journey was one marked by kindness, a generous spirit, and an unwavering commitment to those he loved. He leaves behind a legacy of strength and compassion, qualities that will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.
A celebration of Basil's life will be held on September 26, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Ammen Funeral Home. The family extends their deepest gratitude to friends and family for their support during this difficult time.
