In Loving Memory

Barry Wyse
June 19, 1948 — April 14, 2026
It is with both sadness and gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Barry Wyse, a cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. Born on June 19, 1948, in the small town of Princeton, Indiana, Barry passed peacefully at home on April 14, 2026, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family.
Barry was the beloved son of Troy and Viola Wyse, who predeceased him. He was also preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Vernon and Willa Mae Marrow Wyse; maternal grandparents; and his dear wife, Barbara Lewis Wyse, with whom he shared many wonderful years. Their love was a testament to enduring partnership and devotion.
Barry leaves behind a legacy of love in the hearts of his surviving family: his daughter, Amber Berry of Davenport, OK; his brother, Mark Haile of Texas; and his sister, Darlene Jones of Kansas. He is also survived by his treasured grandchildren, Ricky & Rachel Machado, Alexis & Carson Funk, Andelysia Machado, and Gabriel Machado, and his great-grandchildren, Trae, Tessa, and CJ. His extended family is large and includes numerous other relatives and friends who will dearly miss his presence.
Barry graduated from Chandler High School and went on to serve his country with honor in the U.S. Army. During his time in service, he demonstrated bravery and resilience, earning a Purple Heart for injuries sustained while fighting in the Vietnam War. His courage and dedication to his nation were deeply admired.
Following his military service, Barry embarked on a long career in the oilfield industry, where his hard work and commitment were well respected. However, it was his role as a "professional Papa" that he cherished the most. Barry's family was his greatest joy, and he devoted himself to them wholeheartedly.
An active member of the First Baptist Church of Davenport, Barry's faith was an integral part of his life. He loved Jesus and found solace and strength in his beliefs. He was a man who, while appearing serious and reserved to those who didn’t know him well, revealed a warm, funny, and affectionate nature to his family. Barry was always ready with a helping hand, whether for family, friends, or strangers, and his generosity knew no bounds.
Barry had a passion for roping, a hobby he joyously shared with his granddaughter, Andelysia. Together, they spent countless hours riding horses and practicing their roping skills. Family dinners at his daughter's house, especially those featuring Walter's cooking, were moments he cherished deeply.
A service to celebrate Barry's life will be held on April 25, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Davenport First Baptist Church, located at 625 Santa Fe St., Davenport, OK 74026. All who knew Barry are invited to join in honoring his memory.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to Brother Mike for his unwavering support, the church family for their prayers, and the staff at Emerald Hospice and Home Instead for their compassionate care. We are deeply grateful to all who visited, supported, and prayed for Barry and our family during this time.
Barry's life was a testament to love, service, and faith. He leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him. His memory will forever remain in our hearts.
