Barry Burks

November 15, 1962 — March 9, 2026

With heavy hearts and profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Barry C. Burks, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Born on November 15, 1962, in Jonesboro, AR, Barry left this world peacefully on March 9, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was 63 years old. Barry was the cherished son of Charles and JoAnn Burks, whose legacy of kindness and community spirit he carried throughout his life. He shared a special bond with his brother, Charles (Ken), who remained his lifelong confidant and supporter. Barry's life was marked by love and dedication to his family. On a magical Christmas Day in 2004, he married the love of his life, Doris Burks, in a union that was as strong and enduring as any could imagine. Together, they built a home filled with laughter, love, and warmth. Barry was the proud father of four daughters: Krista (Allan), Lindsey (Clint), Christina (Sean), and Trisha (Shelby). In each of them, he instilled his values of kindness, integrity, and generosity. His nine grandchildren—Seth, Andruw, Hunter, Connor C, Connor R, Summer, Addison, Collin, and Heston—were the light of his life. Barry's eyes would always sparkle with joy whenever he spoke of them or spent time playing with them. A man of many talents, Barry was the owner and operator of Educators Book Depository, a place where many teenagers found their first footing in their careers. Barry was more than an employer; he was a mentor and a friend, always ready to lend an ear or offer guidance. Barry was an active member of Morgan Full Gospel Church, where he found a spiritual home and a community that valued his generous spirit and heartfelt contributions. His faith was unwavering and served as a foundation for the way he lived his life. Adventure was a constant theme in Barry's life. An avid scuba diver and world traveler, Barry's stories of the underwater realms and far-off lands were as captivating as they were inspiring. Music was another passion, and he delighted in playing in multiple bands over the years, sharing his love for melody and rhythm. Barry had an undeniable zest for life, whether he was cruising on his motorcycle, exploring new horizons, or simply enjoying the company of his grandchildren. He had a heart of gold and an innate ability to make those around him feel valued and cared for. In Barry's presence, there was never a want or need left unmet. A celebration of Barry's life will be held on March 14, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Morgan Full Gospel Church, located at 14806 Marche Rd, North Little Rock, AR 72118. Visitation will be at 1pm and the service will be at 2pm. The service will be followed by burial at Honey Hill Cemetery 5626 AR 13 in Searcy, AR 72143.
