In loving memory of Barney Woodson, who peacefully departed this world on April 29, 2026, at the age of 70. Barney was a cherished soul whose life was a testament to love, resilience, and unwavering devotion to family and community. Born on September 27, 1955, in the charming town of Columbia, his life illuminated the lives of many and left an indelible mark on all who knew him. Barney was a man of quiet strength and gentle humor, traits that endeared him to family and friends alike. His early years in Columbia were filled with adventure and curiosity, setting the stage for a life marked by kindness and generosity. From a young age, he showed a love for learning and an insatiable curiosity about the world, qualities that he carried with him throughout his life. Family was the cornerstone of Barney's existence. He was predeceased by his beloved parents, Dino and Nicki Woodson, and his dear sister, Iris Woodson Trapp, whose memories he cherished and honored throughout his life. His legacy continues through his devoted wife, Pearlene Woodson, who was not only his partner in life but also his greatest confidante and friend. Together, they built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and love. Barney's heart swelled with pride for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whose laughter and youthful exuberance brought him immense joy. He was a grandfather to eight remarkable grandchildren, each of whom he adored and cherished, and a great-grandfather to six beautiful great-grandchildren, who were the light of his later years. Throughout his life, Barney was a beacon of wisdom and compassion, offering guidance and support to those around him. He had an uncanny ability to find the silver lining in any situation and was always ready with a comforting word or a helping hand. His presence was a calming influence, and his absence will be profoundly felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Barney's life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life. His memory will forever be a source of inspiration and strength to his family and friends. As we say goodbye to this extraordinary man, we celebrate the gifts he bestowed upon us and carry forward his legacy of kindness and love. A memorial service to honor Barney's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to share stories, memories, and the love that he so generously shared with the world. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, in Barney's memory, to continue his legacy of helping others. Barney Woodson will be dearly missed but never forgotten. May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may we find comfort in knowing that he is now reunited with those who went before him, watching over us with love and grace.
