Barbra Ann Stewart

November 27, 1978 — July 6, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Barbra Ann Stewart, who departed this life on July 6, 2026, at the age of 47. Barbra passed away peacefully at her home in Indianapolis, Indiana, surrounded by the love and care of her cherished daughter, Arianna. She bravely battled an enlarged heart, a condition she shared with her father, John Stewart, her late brother John Stewart Jr., and her eldest son, Davion Bradshaw. Born on November 27, 1978, in Indianapolis, Barbra was a beacon of light to all who knew her. She was the cherished daughter of John Stewart and Barbra Foster, who survive her, along with her brother Justin Stewart. Her spirit will continue to shine through her children: Arianna Carter, Brianna Lewis, Davion Bradshaw, and Ramon Lewis. Barbra was a devoted grandmother to Amiya Thomas and Kingston Frye, who will carry forward her legacy of love and kindness. Barbra was preceded in death by her beloved brother, John Stewart Jr., and she now joins him in eternal peace. On March 15, 2001, Barbra married David Bradshaw in Indianapolis, where they lovingly raised their three children, Arianna, Davion, and Brianna. Her dedication to family was mirrored in her professional life. A graduate of Ivy Tech Community College in 2008, she studied criminal justice in honor of her late uncle, Timothy Foster. For 21 years, Barbra worked in the childcare industry, where she was deeply respected and adored by colleagues and the countless children she cared for. Her influence reached far and wide, even extending to notable figures like former Indiana Pacer Jeff Teague and former Boston Celtics player RJ Hunter, whom she tutored during their formative years. Barbra's life was a testament to her passion for nurturing and educating the young. She spent every Friday at the Finishline Boys & Girls Club, imparting her love for textiles and crafts to the youth. Her weekends were often spent bowling with her daughter Arianna, and her kitchen was always filled with the warm aroma of her famous triple-layered chocolate cake, a treat particularly cherished by her grandson Kingston. Known for her quick thinking and meticulous nature, Barbra was a woman who never gave up and inspired those around her to do the same. Her legacy is one of resilience, compassion, and unwavering dedication to family and community. A service to honor and celebrate Barbra's life will be held on July 10, 2026, at 9:00 AM at Christ Church Apostolic, located at 6601 Grandview Dr, Indianapolis, IN 46250. The Stewart family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Christ Church Apostolic and the Tyson family, whose support and friendship have been a blessing for over 30 years.
