Her life was a testament to kindness, joy, and love, touching the hearts of all who knew her. Barbara's early years were spent in West Hartford, where she graduated from William H. Hall High School. She embarked on a career as an office administrator in the insurance industry, a role in which she excelled through her dedication and professionalism. Her colleagues remember her as someone who brought warmth and efficiency to the workplace, always accompanied by her signature smile. In her personal life, Barbara was known for her vibrant spirit and zest for life. She was an avid bridge player and bowler, finding joy in the camaraderie of shared interests. Her weekends were filled with the warmth of sunshine as she played tennis and tended to her garden, nurturing not only plants but also her love for nature. Barbara's affection for the sun and the beach was a hallmark of her personality, reflecting her radiant and welcoming nature. Barbara was predeceased by her dear sisters, Ann Macari and Karen Stockwell, whose memories she cherished deeply. She is survived by her devoted husband, Greg Tobin, with whom she shared 41 beautiful years of marriage. Together, they raised four wonderful children: Dirk, Erica, Gregory, and Brian, who were the pride and joy of her life. Barbara's legacy lives on through her nine grandchildren, who adored their grandmother and will carry forward her spirit of love and laughter. Barbara's presence was a gift to all who encountered her. She had an innate ability to make everyone feel at ease, always smiling and spreading joy. Her warmth and kindness left an indelible mark on her family, friends, and community. A service to celebrate Barbara's life will be held on November 21, 2026, at 4:00 PM at 347 Celeste Ave., River Ridge, LA. In keeping with Barbara's generous spirit, the family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charity of your choice in her memory.
